Designing Intervention
Every school has students who struggle to learn and educators working incredibly hard to help
each one succeed. However, in this era of public accountability and rigorous expectations,
educators rarely have time to thoughtfully and strategically design and implement the
instructional support systems necessary to offer significant and effective intervention to students
in need. Whether this population is large or small, it is critical to identify:
- Who these students are.
- What skills and content they need.
- What support structures and strategies are effective.
- When and how to implement best practices within and across classrooms.
We tackle this urgent mission by offering analytical professional development that engages
educators in understanding how to effectively help students who struggle or fail. Individuals or teams
examine and analyze achievement data, current realities, best practices, and research-based strategies
in order to design a relevant, viable system of intervention support in schools or districts. They anticipate
and consider the critical barriers and variables that often preclude effective intervention.
We havee a professional staff with extensive experience training administrators and teachers to translate
data results into achievement results by using research-based models and practices intended to
reach those students who struggle at every grade level.
Effective intervention programs must consider and incorporate:
- Components of quality instruction
- In-depth understanding of content
- Critical assessment of progress through data analysis
- Recognition of what impedes learning
- Strategic and intense instructional strategies
- Viable delivery systems including ongoing assessment and
communication of progress.
